Ministry Training

The duties of a pastor.

1. To preach the word, to reprove, rebuke and exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
2. To seek by all means, the conversion and the up building of God’s people in the most holy faith.
3. To care for the people through pastoral visitations, both to the sick, the bereaved, the persecuted and the needy.
4. To prepare candidates for water Baptism and receive persons into full membership provided such persons are qualified and are desirable for membership in our church.
5. To appoint the teachers of the Sunday school, with due regard to the advice of the local Board.
6. To render a monthly account ( financial and progress report) of the local church
7. To read and explain the rules of the church at least quarterly in a year to the member of his local church.

Ministerial Etiquettes

1. A minister should and interesting hearing to the preaching of other ministers.
2. A minister should form a habit of replying letters promptly.
3. He should form the habit of returning borrowed items promptly and as when due.
4. When a minister is transferred out of pastorate, he should be careful not to meddle in the affairs of this successor.
5. When a pastor returns to his former station, he should approach the resident pastor first before calling among the membership.
6. Every pastor should make it a policy to stop speaking disparagingly of his predecessors or successor. A new pastor should not immediately change the method of this predecessor.
7. When a pastor is called back to a former field for either a funeral service or a wedding, he should insist that the resident pastor be invited to participate in the service
8. A pastor should ensure that when he is away from his church, any other minister substituted to preach for him must be sufficient cared for.
9. A pastor should exercise constant vigilance as jealousy mars his attitude
10. A new pastor needs to beware of acting as though the congregation to which he has lately been called has never had any constructive training in the things of God before and consequently he must begin from the foundation.
11. He should be impartial in the treatment of the members of his congregation.
12. He should practices the habit of keeping secret confidences committed to him.
13. A pastor should not exercise a dictatorial or lordly spirit in dealing with the members of his church (1 peter 5:1-4).
14. A minister needs always to watch his conduct towards the female members of his congregation.
15. Patience is an important virtue a pastor will need to cultivate
16. He should show wisdom by refraining from undue familiarity with the members of his congregation.
17. Pastor should learn to take criticism without getting angry or see.
18. He should not take advantage of those who have wronged him by whipping them from the alter.
19. When a visiting pastor comes to a church without prior noticed of his coming, the resident pastor should not feel obliged to ask him to preach.
20. A pastor should endeavor to preserve his integrity and over to allow his image dragged to the mud through or by obtaining financial loan or special favors from his members.
21. A pastor should be slow in taking action(s) on complaint presented to him especially by his members against each other.
22. He should not criticize his church or any of his brethren in the public
23. A minister should be without reproach, a man of integrity, of good behavior and sound report. He should be a pattern of godliness, self-controlled and a man of God indeed ( 1 tim. 3: 1-11, Titus 1-11,Titus 1:5-9).

Ministerial Orders, Ethics and Etiquettes

1. There is one permanent order that we recognize in the minister and that is the “order of the ordained minister”.
2. He is to rule well in the church and perform the water baptism, lord’s supper and marriages( wedding) etc
3. In pursuance of sanctify in this order, no minister who has adverse reports against him or has not worked up any church numerically, spiritually, financially or structurally shall be qualified for ordination into the order
4. Any minister who had gotten adverse reports against him continuously in more than two pastorates or have proved to be unproductive shall be asked to withdraw from the ministry of Redemption Campaigners Mission.
5. Hence a minister is called win souls to Christ, any minister who caused any local church to scatter or caused mass exodus of members shall be removed from the minister as a pastor or evangelist and his credentials cancelled.
6. Any minister who violates policies or undermine the implementation of the church directives without permission from the appropriate authority shall forfeit his allowances for the said month. And when it becomes habitual, shall be demoted a step downward.
7. There shall be a questionnaire from the office of the General overseer which every minister must fill every year, based on achievements and spiritual progress.

 Church Membership Ethics

Members of the Redemption Campaigners Mission (Emancipation proclaimers Assembly) shall steadily live by church ethics which are the approved conducts and daily behaviors of the Christians. Here we refer Christian ethics as, membership ethics because our members are Christians who should abide by the conducts and rules of the word of God. Here are things our member must do, be and must accomplish here on earth as they wait for the soon appearance of our lord from the sky.

1. Our members must be born again, holy and sincere every day.
2. Our members must be prayerful, devoted and consecrated.
3. Our members must be sanctified or seek for entire sanctification
4. Must be evangelistic and soul winning oriented
5. Must attend our church worship regularly
6. Must not be late in services but always early to church.
7. Must pay their tithes, vows and other pledges faithfully.
8. Must give their offerings and other gifts faithfully.
9. Must appreciate God when HE blesses them.
10. Must build the church and support its growth.
11. Must give and support the gospel ministers.
12. Must support the widows or orphans and the poor.
13. Must obey the rules and standards of the church.
14. Must live by faith and faithfulness every day.
15. Must do good to the church and to others outsides
16. Must not owe the government, no owe individuals
17. Must return all borrowed items promptly as promised.
18. Must help the needy, the sick and the bereaved.
19. Must donate to the progress of God’s work.
20. Must not join the world or multitude to commit sin.
21. Must never speak badly of the church, nor of the gospel minister.
22. Must not give occasion for Satan to manipulate him.
23. Must not be envious against the prosperity of sinners.
24. Must not gossip, nor slander and never mock others.
25. Must not appear sinfully, nor dress worldly.
26. Our members must always be the epitome of the gospel.
27. Must not forsake the assembly of the church.
